Quillstone Prep is a specialist legal education and mentoring support service focused on the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) and early legal education. We work with aspiring solicitors, trainees, legal professionals and law graduates who want a more rigorous and individual approach to their preparation, one that prioritises knowledge, understanding, and professionalism.

Our work is led by a qualified solicitor with first-hand SQE experience, who has been involved with the examination since its inception. They have worked with one of the UK’s largest SQE course providers in the past and participated in the exam’s early development stages. Alongside their legal practice, they have provided private SQE tutoring for a number of years, combining their day-to-day experience as a practising lawyer with a detailed understanding of how the SQE is assessed in practice. During this time, they have supported hundreds of candidates through the SQE, many of whom have since gone on to qualify and practise as solicitors themselves.

Our services are shaped by the belief that legal education and practice should be both exacting and inclusive. We offer carefully structured one-to-one tutoring, small-group sessions, results analysis, and career support, designed to meet candidates where they are and support them in progressing in confidence, wherever they are headed next.

Quillstone Prep is deliberately small and selective. This allows us to work closely with each individual, maintain high academic and professional standards, and offer guidance that is thoughtful, practical, and grounded in real legal practice.

We are a registered course provider and participate in regular Kaplan and SRA-led workshops, ensuring our approach remains aligned with current assessment requirements and expectations.
